Prof. Dr. Zhiyong Dong obtained Ph.D. from Chengdu University of Science and Technology in 1993 and worked for Post-Doctor at the University of Science and Technology of China between 1993 and 1995, and worked at Nanjing Hydraulic Research Institute between 1995 and 1999. Since 1999, he has worked at Zhejiang University of Technology, Hangzhou, China. As a visiting scholar, he visited the University of Glasgow in the UK, the University of Queensland in Australia, Ponte di Archimede S. p. A. in Italy, the University of Wisconsin in the United States, and the University of British Columbia in Canada etc. His research interests mainly contain Fluid Mechanics, Water Resources Engineering, Water Pollution Control Technique, Port and Waterway Engineering etc. He is an IAHR Member and an Executive Committee Member of IAHR China Chapter. Up to now he published 6 books such as Environmental Fluid Mechanics, Advanced Fluid Mechanics, Mechanics of Jets at Science Press, and published more than 170 Journal/Conference papers.
